Our Aquatics Center is Open!
After more than a year of major renovation projects, the Defiance Area YMCA is excited to reopen its Aquatics Center on Monday, June 15th. The pool will be available for swimming, exercise, and recreation immediately, with Swim Lessons and Group Exercise programs available in the near future.
The renovation projects have included everything from HVAC system replacement to water filtration and pool chemistry control systems. The YMCA carefully planned the projects to extend the pool system's working life for the long term.
“We know our community has missed the YMCA pool,” said Aquatics Director Jordan Wagner. “We’re happy to have swimmers back in the water again!”
“This has been a massive project,” said YMCA CEO Brian Rachielles, “and we’re truly grateful for the support from the YMCA members, local individuals, businesses, and organizations that have made the renovations possible. There is still work to be done, but this is excellent progress.”
